Motivation and profile

Passionate about the immediate positive impact arts and culture  can have, I am an intuitive and creative manager with over twelve years experience as an international senior executive in a cultural business and have twenty years practice organising and managing events.   My direct and active involvement in the media sector in  Britain and Ireland has given me links and experience with both commercial and educational agencies.  I want to share my enthusiasm with others to make work more fun and relevant to every day life.

Past lives

'94 - '07, Celtic Media Festival - Chief Executive and Company Secretary                                         Charitable organisation that delivers a prestigious peripatetic three-day conference and awards promoting Celtic languages and cultures on screen and in broadcasting.  I liaised closely with agencies including the British Council and HotDocs International Documentary Festival (Toronto) and festival guests included critically acclaimed film director Ken Loach and screen writer Jimmy McGovern.  In my 13 year tenure the Fesitval was held in stunning Celtic locations from Derry to Aberystwyth, Quimper to Skye via Falmouth.  My role required particular skills -

Some personal information - I am based in Glasgow, Scotland and work throughout Britain and Ireland. From Northern Ireland I have lived in Scotland since 1994.  I have an honours degree in English Literature from Cambridge University (Newnham College) and am currently studying 'Art and its Histories' through the Open University for fun!  I have loved television, film and reading since childhood.  

Recent professional development includes 1-2-1 business coaching with the Cultural Enterprise Office, business mentoring while establishing Hendron Associates, Enterprising Women's Business Course and a programme of one to one executive coaching with Executive 21 that has helped hone my management and creative skills.

When I can, I like to travel.  I make time to catch up with friends and enjoy theatre, cinema and entertaning.
